About Bob Day
About Bob Day (DayLeadershipSolutions.com)
Leadership isn’t guesswork — and Bob Day knows this better than most.
With over 30 years leading teams and managing national sales operations, Bob understands what it really takes to step up, earn respect, and create results in the real world of business. His journey began in the small farming community of Roberts, Illinois, eventually rising to top leadership roles in the automotive and printing industries.
Bob holds a B.S. in Education from Southern Illinois University, and has completed advanced management programs through General Motors, Rochester Institute of Technology, and Rice University’s Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Administration. However, his real education came from decades in the trenches — guiding teams through market changes, competition, growth challenges, and cultural shifts.
Why He Writes
Bob’s latest book, Leadership Strategies for First-Time Managers, is built from his belief that leadership is a craft anyone can master with the right strategies, tools, and mindset. The book offers proven strategies to help new managers. Among these strategies are:
- Transition confidently from team member to team leader
- Build trust and credibility quickly
- Communicate with clarity and purpose
- Motivate teams to achieve real results
His mission is simple:
To shorten the learning curve for first-time managers and accelerate their success.
His Approach:
Bob combines real, first-hand experience leading teams and boardroom strategy. His leadership style is rooted in practical, no-nonsense advice that managers can implement immediately — without corporate jargon or management theory fluff.
Whether he’s writing a blog post, crafting his next book, or mentoring future leaders through his insights, Bob’s focus remains the same:
Clarity. Confidence. Results.

Leadership Influences
A blend of timeless principles and modern behavioral science shapes my leadership philosophy. I draw on classic thinkers like John Maxwell, Brian Tracy, Zig Ziglar, Stephen Covey, Peter Drucker, and Dale Carnegie — the voices that laid the foundation for my leadership career. I balance that with the insights of modern experts such as Simon Sinek, Adam Grant, Michael Bungay Stanier, Daniel Pink, Brene Brown, and James Clear, whose research reflects today’s workplace realities. I also incorporate personal growth and behavioral voices, such as Don Miguel Ruiz, Mel Robbins, and Eckhart Tolle, and take inspiration from creative management thinkers such as Dale Dauten and Chip & Dan Heath. Together, these influences help me deliver practical, ethical, human-centered leadership strategies that grow with you through every stage of your leadership journey.
